*Obituary

Velda Louise Crozier Sibley of Searcy, Arkansas completed her earthly journey on August 11, 2018 at her home surrounded by her family at the age of 86 years. She began her earthly journey on August 19, 1931 with her parents, Clyde Emerson and Nina Belle Smith Crozier in a small community called Mt Pisgah, Arkansas.

Velda attended Arkansas State Teachers College in Conway, Arkansas and received her BA degree in Education and met the love of her life. On February 10, 1952 Velda and Jennings Grady Sibley were united in marriage in Conway, Arkansas.

Mrs. Sibley is preceded in death by her parents; her husband; one son, Jay Sibley; one grandson, Andrew Foster; and three brothers, Dale, Dwight and Ronnie Crozier.

She is survived by her four daughters, Nanette (Randy) Nichols, Tanya (Billy) Bonner, Jana (Billy Wayne) Smith and Lois (Mark) Dunn all of Searcy; twelve grandchildren, Shannon (Kenny) Holeyfield, Kenny (LaDonna) Nichols, Kevin (Laura) Nichols, Keith Nichols, Bridget (Davis) Mills, Daniel (Jessica) Bonner, Tobey (Amie) Smith, Timothy Smith, Justin (Fallon) Sibley, Jake (DeAnna) Sibley, Ian Dunn; Fourteen (14) great-grandchildren; two sisters, Joyce Parker of Alabama, Sherry (Don) Wynne of Arkansas and one brother Garry Crozier of Arkansas along with a host of nieces, nephews, many other relatives and friends.

Mrs. Sibley was an educator from a very early age and wanted to teach the younger ages so that they we get a good foundation for their lives. Her career was one of many years, but even after retirement, she never stopped teaching those she came in contact with. A big part of her teaching was not just by words, but was from the example that she showed through her life. Her teaching came through her faith and trust in her Heavenly Father and she set that example for her family, her students and the community that she called home.

Graveside Services will be held on August 15th, 2018 at 10:00 AM at the Cross Harbor Cemetery
