* William C.(August Heinrich Wilhelm Hotop) Hotopp was born in 1870 in Mainzholzen, Lower Saxony, Germany, his father Henry, was also born in Mainzholzen, Germany in 1839. His father was 31 and his mother, Carrie Johanne Walten, she was also born in Mainzhlozen, Germany. Carrie was 30 when William was born. Henry and Carrie, along with their three children imigrated to United States in 1875.

William met and married Alma Albertine Bendig from Baldu,West Prussia on May 18, 1897, in Chicago, Illinois. They had two children during their marriage Walter Joseph Hotopp(1898)and Ernest Hotopp(1903).

William was a very accomplised artist and had a Photograph Coping and Portrait Studio in Chicago for a while before moving his family to Bald Knob, Arkansas There he aquired a strawberry farm, along with the asstistance of his father, Henry.The Strawberry Farm prospered quiet well and the Hotopp family became one of the more affluent families in the area, which allowed them to purchase a home in town and to also purchase and drive the first automobile in the county. William also became the Mayor of Bald Knob and was a very active member in the Strawberry Growers Association and was a active member of the Bald Knob Masonic Lodge and he was also a Royal Arch Mason. William died of a heart attack in 1938 in Bald Knob, Arkansas, at the age of 68, and is buried in the Bolin Cemetery, which was next to his beloved farm in Bald Knob, Arkansas.
