Basil Lee Koch, 77, a resident of Paris passed away Thursday, February 21, 2019, in Fort Smith.

He was born February 25, 1941, in Paris to the late Eberhart and Gertrude Koch. Basil was a veteran of the United States Air Force. Basil married Betty McCombs in Subiaco in 1967. He spent his working years at Arkansas Valley Electric in Ozark. Basil retired from the member services department of Arkansas Valley Electric after 41 years of service. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris and the Knights of Columbus Council 3787 in Paris.

In addition to his parents Basil was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer Koch; a granddaughter, Elizabeth Koch; two sisters, Mary Jane Wewers and Geneva Willems and three brothers, Bernard Koch, Bob Koch and Silvan Koch.

Survivors include his wife of 51 years, Betty Koch of Paris; a son, Brian Koch of Scranton; two grandchildren, Thomas and Kathryn Koch; two sisters, Loretta Koch and Emily Ray, both of Fort Smith; three brothers, Gilbert Koch of Fort Smith, Eberhart Koch, Jr. of Shoal Creek and Tom Koch of Bossier City, Louisiana.

Memorial rosary will be held at 7:00 p.m., Sunday, February 24, 2019, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.

Memorial mass will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2019, at the St. Joseph Catholic Church with Fr. Eugene Luke, O.S.B. officiating.
