Otto Schmalz, 90, of Paris, Arkansas died Saturday, August 14, 2004, in Fort Smith. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Catholic War Veterans, Disabled American Veterans, the American Legion and the Polar bears Association of World War II.

Rosary was said at 7:30 p.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris, Arkansas. Funeral Mass was held at 2 p.m. Tuesday at St. Joseph catholic Church with burial at St. Joseph Cemetery in Paris under the direction of Roller Funeral Home of Paris.

He is survived by his wife, two daughters, a son, a sister, nine grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Honorary pallbearers were the Catholic War Veterans.

Frieda Schmalz, 95, of Paris, Arkansas, passed away Thursday, September 13, 2018, at her home. She was born November 13, 1922, in Scranton, Arkansas, to the late Henry Schmitz and Anna Dillier Schmitz. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Otto Schmalz; her three sisters, Regina, Betty, and Louise; four brothers, Ben, Joe, Tony, and Ed.

Frieda was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Women's Alter Society, and Tuesday Morning Quilter's at St. Joseph. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She was devoted to her family and her church.

Rosary service will be held at 6:00 P.M. Sunday, September 16th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Paris.

Funeral mass will be at 10:00 A.M. Monday, September 17th, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, with Father Eugene Luke, O.S.B. and Deacon Bob Cowie officiating. Burial will be at St. Joseph Cemetery, under the direction of Brotherton Brothers Funeral Home in Paris.
She is survived by her children, Jeanette Frederick and husband Tom of Subiaco, Linda Ussery and husband George of Dickinson, Texas, and Larry Schmalz and wife Robin of Paris; a sister, Dorothy Schneider of Paris; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Glynn Frederick, Brian Ussery, Ben Schmalz, Joe Schmalz, Jakob Schmalz, Scott Keech, Kevin Gross, and Eddie Sims.
Honorary pallbearers will be her granddaughter's.
A special "Thank You" to Frieda's caretaker's, Melinda Jones and Audrea, for the love and care you gave to our mother.
