Iva Jean Atkinson
April 30, 1939 - November 15, 2021
Iva Jean Atkinson, 82 of Hoxie; died November 15, 2021; in the Flo and Phil Hospice House in Jonesboro. Born April 30, 1939; in Walnut Ridge; daughter of the late, Leonard and Mattie Manning Lamb.
She was united in marriage to Bobby Darrell Atkinson on March 2, 1959.
Iva was a retired seamstress and a life-long member of the Oak Hill Baptist Church. She was very creative and artistic, she enjoyed sewing, drawing, painting, and poetry. Iva had a great sense of humor and loved to entertain and cook. She loved spending time at her church, singing, and being with her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Bobby in 1989; four brothers, infant Charlie, Curtis, Cledith and Jack Lamb; and six sisters, Grace Heard, Esther Floyd, Opal Christian, Evelyn Rutledge, Hazel and Ruth Whitmire.
Survivors include her two sons, Michael (Janet) Atkinson and Kendel (Ginger) Atkinson all of Hoxie; four grandchildren, Katelyn (Spencer) Davis, Jake (Lauren) Ellis, Payton Ditto, and Remi Atkinson; one sister, Lily Whitmire of Jonesboro; and many other relatives and friends.
Funeral Service will be Friday, November 19, 2021; at 2 P.M. in the Oak Hill Baptist Church with Bro. Dorian Gregory officiating.
Pallbearers will be Bruce Manning, Doug Manning, Bobby Lamb, James Barnett, Jim Bigger and Royce Smith. Interment will follow in the Manning #1 Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 12 P.M. till 2 P.M. Friday.
In lieu of flowers, donations requested to be sent to the Oak Hill Baptist Church or the Manning Cemetery Fund in care of Debbie Reithemeyer.
