November 8, 1915 - July 7, 1977
James Harvey Owens, 59, of Rt. 3, Box 360, Camden died July 7 at his home. Funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. in the St. Mary Baptist Church in Amy with the Rev. E. Giles officiating. Burial will follow in the St. Mary Cemetery with Williams Funeral Services of Camden in charge. Mr. Owens is survived by his widow, Mrs. Gertrude Owens; three sons, James Edward Owens, Ed Owens, and John Owens, all of Camden; three daughters, Mrs. Billy Jean Sumler, Mrs. Dorothy Ann Lewis and Mrs. Brenda Thrower, all of Camden, six brothers, Willie Henry Owens of Camden, Andrew Scott Owens of Rockford, Ill., Jasper Owens and Roosevelt Owens of Oakland, Calif. and Hoover Owens of Cleveland, Ohio, three sisters, Mrs. Gracie Mae Williams and Odel Gill of Camden, and Mrs. Rebecca Papkin of Oakland, Calif.; and seven grandchildren.
