George C. Owens, 80, of Camden, died Sunday. Services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday in Proctor Chapel. Burial will follow in Salem Cemetery under the direction of Proctor Funeral Home. Mr. Owens was a Baptist, a retired millwright, and a veteran of WWI. He is survived by his wife, Gladys Williams Owens; two sons, George Claude Owens, Jr. of Kingman, Ariz., and Bobby Wayne Owens of Pine Bluff; two brothers, Bryan Owens of Hammond, Ind. and Herman Owens of Florida; one sister, Mrs. E. W. Harrell of Dallas, Tex.; seven grandchildren and one great-grandchild. (Camden News - November 15, 1975)
