Woodrow H. Beaver, 91 of Camden was born October 13, 1922 and died Wednesday, November 13, 2013. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Connie C. Beaver and Eva Merritt Beaver; his wife, Beulah Faye Williams Beaver; a daughter, Connie Sue Beaver; and three brothers, Garland, Ray and Franklin Beaver.

He is survived by a brother, Perry (Jean) Beaver of Camden; son, Charles (Donna) Beaver of Sherwood; daughter, Gail Stratton of Camden; grandchildren, Ronda (Brian) Schrekenhofer of Conway and Chad (Karina) Stratton of Harrison; great grandchildren, Taylor and Trenton Schrekenhofer of Conway.

After graduating from Chidester High School in 1942 he joined the Army and served in WWII as a combat military police for 2 ½ years. He was awarded the Bronze Star for bravery while in Belgium fighting in the Battle of the Bulge. He returned home, married Beulah Faye Williams and went to work for the Bag Pack Division of International Paper Company, retiring in 1981 after 35 years of service. During his earlier years he enjoyed fox hunting, bird hunting and training his dogs. After raising his family and retiring he and Beulah enjoyed spending time at their place on White Oak Lake and attending Church singings and activities until her death in 1999.

He was an active member of Westside United Methodist Church serving on various committees and in all capacities of leadership. He was the cornerstone of his family, always there to share his love, care, compassion and to provide for our every need. He was a leader and a Christian man that encouraged others by example. The family commends him for providing special care for our Mother, Aunt Mollie and Aunt Nancy when their health failed. Those lucky enough to have participated in one of his 4-wheeler excursions received a special blessing and a personal history lesson of the Chidester/Bluff City area. He was a true southern gentleman and a man of integrity. He fought for his country, provided for his family and witnessed for God.
