PRESLEY, Malinda Ellen HAWKINS Crowdus - Malinda Ellen Hawkins was born in Chautauqua, Kansas July 10, 1876 and moved with her parents when a baby to Missouri near Joplin where she lived until 19 years old. Then she moved with them to Benton County, Arkansas where she met and married M.F. Presley. To this union were born three children, two boys and a girl. She professed faith in Christ when young and united with the Baptist Church and in 1925 she united with the M.E. Church, South in Bentonville where she remained a member to the end. She died May 19th, 1932 at her home west of Bentonville. She leaves to mourn her passing her husband and her children: Carl and Elbert Presley and Mrs. A.E. Rakes, also Dickson Crowdus, a son by a former marriage, three grandchildren, two sisters, Mrs. Ora and Mrs. Albert Holland of Missouri and a brother, T.W. Hawkins of Missouri. Funeral services were conducted by Elder O.E. Coones at the Miller Church Friday, May 20th and burial was made in the cemetery at that place.
