Mr. J. L. Jeffers, age 66, of Crossett, AR, lost his battle with cancer on June 2, 2014. He was born on July 21, 1947 in Portland, AR to his parents, Carl and Louise Jeffers. J. L. was a native and lifelong resident of Crossett. He was an avid hunter, fisherman and loved the outdoors.
He was employed by U. S. Dunnage and an active member of the Crossett Masonic Lodge #576 and also a District Deputy Grand Marshall of District 16 in the Scottish Rites. A beloved member of the Lions Club,
who also loved spending time with his family. He was a Vietnam Veteran who proudly served his country in the Navy. J. L. was a Deacon and a member of Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church. He was a loving
husband, father, grandfather and wonderful friend. He was preceded in death by his parents, Carl and Louise Jeffers; three sisters, Faye, Nancy and Elizabeth.
Survivors include his wife of 43 years, Mary Jeffers of Crossett, AR; two daughters, Theresa Duke and husband, Todd of Dubach, LA, Kristi Morgan and husband, Steve "Cheezy" of Crossett, AR; seven
grandchildren, Blake Kubiak "Bubba", Casey Morgan "KK", Sydney Morgan "Lulu", Patrick Duke, Chris Duke, Brittni Gober, April Duke; two great grandchildren, Daniel and Ansaley Duke; three brothers, Charles
Jeffers and wife, Angela, Jerry Wayne Jeffers and wife, Becky, all of Crossett, AR, Jr. Jeffers and wife, Gail of Milo, AR; two sisters, Margaret
Robinson and husband, Ray of Bastrop, LA, Jane McClain and husband, Mac of Milo, AR and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 at Cross Road Missionary Baptist Church with Bro. Farrell Breshears and Bro. Buddy Boykin officiating. Interment will follow at Crossroads
Cemetery under the direction of Jones Funeral Home of Crossett, AR.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
