FARMINGTON — Jeredon Chandler, age 86, of Farmington, passed away Sunday, February 22, 2015 in Fayetteville. He was born March 28, 1928 in Winslow, Arkansas, the son of John Doss Chandler and Ocie Violet White Chandler.

He lived most of his life in Winslow, associated with his father in business, then in Winslow Post Office where he served thirty years, the last eleven years as postmaster. He attended Fayetteville High School his junior and senior years and was acknowledged as one of their top performing basketball players both years. He lived in Winslow until 1997 when he retired from civil service and moved to Fayetteville once again.

He was married to the former Marjorie Jacqueline "Jackie" Bishop for 67 years. They had two daughters, Myra Jena Chandler-Watkins and Vicki Ann Chandler-Wilkins.

Jeredon was active in the Masonic Summit Lodge serving as Past Master and Treasurer for several years, Past Worthy Patron of the Order of the Eastern Star, past president of the Winslow PTA, and in many other capacities within the Winslow community over the years. He was active in the Winslow Methodist Church his entire life.

He is survived by his wife, Jackie Chandler, two daughters, Myra Jena Chandler-Watkins and her husband Jim R. Watkins of West Fork, Arkansas and Vicki Ann Chandler-Wilkins and her husband David A. Wilkins of Rogers, Arkansas; five grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

Jeredon lived his principles. He was a quiet, gentle man of character, always respectful, fair, honest, truthful and kind. When you think of Jeredon, you think of true Christian faith and all of these things: love, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, self control, humility and gentleness. He is loved dearly and will be greatly missed.

Visitation will be 1 p.m. - 2 p.m., Thursday, February 26, 2015 at Moore's Chapel followed by a funeral service at 2 p,m. at Moore's Chapel. Burial will be in Brentwood Cemetery. FAYETTEVILLE - Marjorie Jacqueline (Jackie) Bishop-Chandler passed away peacefully in her sleep at North Hills Life Care in Fayetteville, Ark., on Dec. 31, 2020. She was born in Osage City, Kan., to Alvin Wesley Bishop and Vernie Hazel Haws-Bishop on June 25, 1927.

She spent most of her childhood in Cordell, Okla., moving to Winslow, Ark., in 1943. She attended her Junior and Senior school years in Winslow, graduating as Valedictorian in 1945.

Following graduation, she was employed by Bell Telephone in Fayetteville, Ark., for several years. She married Jeredon Chandler in 1947 and they had two daughters, Myra Jena and Vicki Ann. She was a "stay at home" Mom until 1964 when she returned to work for Standard Register Company for 10 years. While at Standard Register Company, she was active in the Razorback Federal Credit Union, serving as Secretary of the Credit Committee and a member of the board.

Jackie was active in the Winslow Methodist Church. She served as youth Sunday School teacher, choir member, and other various capacities throughout the years. She loved music and sang all her life. She was a published poet and enjoyed painting. Many of her paintings hang in local homes.

She was also active in her community, serving as the Winslow Librarian for several years and she assisted the Health Department and Winslow School on many occasions. She loved home, family, entertaining and traveling, which she and Jeredon frequently enjoyed.

She is survived by Myra Jena Chandler-Watkins and her husband Jim R. Watkins of West Fork, Ark., Vicki Ann Chandler-Wilkins and her husband David A. Wilkins of Rogers, Ark.; four grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren.

Jackie was a talented, energetic woman who lived life to its fullest. She had many friends and loved ones. She had a sharp mind and was always full of love. She the glue that held the family together and taught us many life lessons. She is loved and will be greatly missed.

Graveside service will be 2 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 5, 2021, at Brentwood Cemetery under the direction of Moore's Chapel.
