Walter G. Pagan, 80, a retired merchant of Urbana, died in a local hospital Wednesday night. A lifelong resident of Union County, Mr. Pagan was born in Strong July 31, 1884, the son of Lee D. and Margaret Vorhease Pagan. He was a member of the Urbana Baptist Church and of the Masonic Lodge of Strong. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mildred Simmons Pagan; two sons, Wendell G. Pagan and Wayne S. Pagan, both of El Dorado; two sisters, Mrs. T. M. Gorman and Mrs. Senie Anton, both of Magnolia; a brother, W. T. Pagan of Strong; and two grandchildren, Susanne Pagan and Del Pagan, both of El Dorado. Funeral services will be held Friday at 2:30 p.m. at the Urbana Baptist Church under the direction of Pratt Funeral Home. The Rev. Don Laing and Dr. Don B. Harbuck will officiate. Burial will be in the Urbana Cemetery. The body will be taken to the church at 1 p.m. Friday. Active pallbearers will be James Ballard, Harold J. Murphy, G. W. Siders, Jr., Harold Goss, Melvin E. Mayfield and Thomas Reeves. The family will be at the Wayne Pagan home, 150 W. Oak St. (The El Dorado Times - January 21, 1965)
