David Arthur Boyd, 93, of Jacksonville, passed away April 20, 2021. He was born August 16, 1927 in Jacksonville to the late Redmond and Annie (Sumner) Boyd. In addition to his parents, David was preceded in death by his wife of sixty-three years, Bonnie Boyd; his brothers, Don (Margaret) Boyd, Jerry Boyd, Dickie (Annie) Boyd and sister, Dianne (Wayne) Besancon.

Shortly after serving in World War II, David began his 43-year career with the Veterans Administration until retirement as Building Administrator in 1987. Retirement afforded him the opportunity to do what he enjoyed most, spending time with family who will treasure the memories he left behind.

David is survived by his children, Karla Gibbs and Brian (Sheryl) Boyd; grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel) Morrison, Shea (Drew) Young, Seth (Kaylee) Boyd, Taylor (Miller) Crosby and Samantha Boyd, who affectionately called him “DD”/”Nananny”; his great-grandchildren, Logan Morrison, Luke & Harper Young; and sister, Mary Ruth Turrentine.

Visitation will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, April 23, 2021 at First Presbyterian Church in Jacksonville, Arkansas, followed by his celebration of life at 11:00 a.m.m officiated by Reverend Elizabeth Brinegar and Lay Minister Mary Jane Fischer. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Memorial Park. The family requests memorials be made in David's name to First Presbyterian Church, 1208 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas 72076. A special thank you to Evelyn Finley and her team of home caregivers for their loving care of Dad. First Presbyterian Church requests that all attendees wear masks and practice social distancing. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Moore’s Jacksonville Funeral Home, (501)982-2136.

Bonnie Jo Boyd age 85, of Jacksonville, our beloved mother, wife, and grandmother passed away on January 29, 2015 at Hospice Home Care in Little Rock. She was born March 29, 1929 in Howard County, Arkansas to the late Oscar and Lessie Gibson. She was lovingly referred to as "Mawmaw" or "Bo-Bo" by her grandchildren. Bonnie is survived by her husband of 63 years, David; sister, Edna Lou Campbell of Ashdown, Arkansas; daughter, Karla (Dr. Mark) Gibbs of Little Rock; son, Brian (Sheryl) Boyd of Sherwood; grandchildren, Ashley (Daniel) Morrison of Little Rock, Shea (Drew) Young of Auburn, Alabama, Taylor Gibbs of Little Rock and Seth and Samantha Boyd of Sherwood. She was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Sue Hadaway of Texarkana, Arkansas. Mom graduated from Centerpoint (AR) High School. She received her RN degree from Baptist School of Nursing in 1949 and spent her career caring for her patients at Arkansas Children's Hospital, Rebsamen Regional Hospital and ultimately retiring as Dr. Bill Durham's primary nurse at Crestview Family Clinic in Jacksonville. "Mawmaw" will be remembered for her sense of style, commitment to her family, and always putting others first. Never one to call attention to herself, she will be remembered as our silent provider, comforter and encourager. Dad always put Mom first and gave of himself in ways that should inspire all of us in our love and care for others. A special thank you to Dr. Sauer, Dr. Liu and the staff at Hospice Home Care for their care, and especially to the home caregivers Evelyn Finley and Lanette Lewis Holloway, who provided and gave themselves selflessly as she prepared for her Home-going. Visitation will be from 1-2 p.m. Monday, February 2, 2015 at First Presbyterian Church, 1208 West Main Street, Jacksonville, Arkansas followed by her life celebration at 2:00 p.m. led by Reverend Debbie Freeman and Dr. David Dyer. Entombment will follow at Chapel Hill Mausoleum in Jacksonville. The family requests memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Moore's Jacksonville Funeral Home & Crematory. (501) 982-2136.
