Prairie Grove — John D. Shannon, 83, of Farmington died Sunday in his home. Born Nov. 27, 1898 at Lincoln, he was the son of Thomas and Eva Kidd Shannon. He was a retired farmer and a member of the Methodist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Della Beaty Shannon of the home; three sons, Alvin of Hindsville, Tommy of Maumee, Ohio and Jerry of Farmington; a brother, Wesley of Tulsa, Okla., a sister, Mrs. Ruth King; of Lincoln; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.

Funeral will be Wednesday at 2 p.m. at Luginbuel Funeral Home Chapel in Prairie Grove with burial in the Beaty Cemetery located north of Lincoln.

FARMINGTON — Della Beaty Shannon, 89, of Farmington died Monday, Aug. 24, 1992, in a Fayetteville nursing home. Born July 20, 1903, at Lincoln, the daughter of Alvin and Ella Writesman Beaty, she was a member of the United Methodist Church of Farmington. She was preceded in death by her husband, John D. Shannon, in 1982.

Survivors are three sons, Alvin Shannon of Hindsville, Tommy Shannon of Maumee, Ohio, and Jerry Shannon of Farmington; seven grandchildren and six green-grandchildren.

Funeral will be at 2 p.m., Thursday, at Luginbuel Chapel in Prairie Grove with Rev. Von Dell Mooney officiating. Pallbearers are Jerry Leach, Vernon Tennant, Tilman Tabor, James Sturdy, James Myers and Ronnie Rinehart.

Burial will be in Beaty Cemetery in Lincoln.
