J.C. (Jefferson Clark) Spraggins, age 92, of Warren, AR. regained his sight and met his Lord and Savior Thursday, June 6, at his home. Born August 16, 1920 in Bradley County, AR. a son of the late Allen Spraggins and Lula Mae Singer Spraggins; he was a retired employee with the W. & S.R. Railroad with 42 years of service retiring as Resident Manager in 1985, member and deacon of Ebenezer Baptist Church and a U.S. Army Air Corps. veteran. He also served on the Board of Directors of the Bradley County Farmers Cooperative, serving as President from 1975 to 1978 and Banks School Board and Bradley County Board of Education. Also, preceding him in death was a granddaughter Wendy Renea Spraggins and a brother Claude Spraggins.
Survivors are his wife Charlotte Louise Barker Spraggins whom he married February 3, 1945. 2 sons David Clark Spraggins (Debbie), Texarkana, AR., Thomas Gary Spraggins (Carolyn), Warren, AR. 2 daughters Connie Louise Jones (Bill), Warren, AR., Patricia Ann Duran (Dennis), Rison, AR. 1 sister Barbara Reynolds, Warren,AR. 10 grandchildren Mike Jones, Kelly Smith, Jonathan Duran, Amanda Gray, Todd Spraggins, Kimberly Blankenship, Alan Spraggins, Julie Day, William Glosup and Amber Glosup. 10 great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 8, at Frazer's Chapel with Rev. Bob Black and Rev. David Bostian officiating. Linda Barrett was organist and soloist were Kelly Smith and Bob Haygood. Burial was in Ebenezer Cemetery by Frazer's Funeral Home. Active pallbearers were Mike Jones, Jonathan Duran, David Gray, Todd Spraggins, Brian Blankenship, Alan Spraggins, Stephen Day and William Glosup. Memorials preferred Ebenezer Cemetery Association C/O Saunders Services; 311 N. Myrtle Street; Warren, AR. 71671.
