Betty Lois Harness, age 89, departed this life Thursday, December 20, 2007 at UAMS in Little Rock. The daughter of Leander L. Horton and Mary Garrison Horton, she was born September 11, 1918.

She was of the Pentecostal faith.

She is survived by two children, Danny Harness and wife Brenda, and Linda Passmore and husband Wilber, all of Marshall; four grandchildren, Sherry Fountain and husband Todd of Hector; Brent Passmore and wife Alison of North Little Rock; Nick Harness and wife Kim of Greenbrier; and Beth Scanlan and husband Ricky of Little Rock; six great-grandchildren, Tyler Fountain, Matt Harness, Darci Fountain, Logan Harness, Sydney Scalan and Towns Passmore. She is also survived by five sisters, Joyce McKnight, Gladys Eaton, and Estalee Reeves of Marshall; Denvalee Roten of Leslie, Zelma Bundy of Oklahoma; nieces and nephews; and a host of other relatives and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Clois Horton; one sister, Alma Smith; and her husband, Daniel R. Harness.

Services were held at Roller-Coffman Chapel with Marcus Treadwell and Phillip Clark officiating.

Pallbearers were: Nick Harness, Todd Fountain, Tyler Fountain, Matt Harness, Shawn Treadwell, and Ricky Scanlan.

Burial was in Marshall Memorial Gardens by Roller-Coffman Funeral Home.
