Mrs. Novella Caldwell Hicks, 54 of Little Rock, AR, died Saturday, February 8, 2014 at her residence in Little Rock. She was a native of Portland, AR, and a resident of Little Rock for the past seven years. She was a cook in the Kroger Deli and a member of Brown Temple Baptist Church in Portland, AR.
Mrs. Hicks was preceded in death by her husband, Joe Nathan Hicks on March 24, 2013, her mother, Willie B. McCoy Caldwell, one brother, Allen McCoy, Jr. and one sister, Bertha Hulett.
She is survived by one son, Tarence Caldwell of Milwaukee, WI, four brothers: Will Caldwell & Arthur Hulett, wife Lucy of Crossett, AR, Roy Hulett, wife Lovie Ann of Portland, AR & Jessie McCoy, wife Shirley of Milwaukee, WI, three sisters: Shirley Collins, husband David of Milwaukee, WI, Catherine Dukes of Montrose, AR & Shirley King, husband Able King of Great Bend, KS, one granddaughter, Tyanna Caldwell of Milwaukee, WI and a host of other relatives, loved ones and friends.
Funeral services are Saturday, February 15, 2014 at 1:00 pm at Portland #2 Baptist Church with Rev. Thurman Robinson officiating. Pallbearers are Antwon Johnson, Emmitt Tyler, Ed McCree, Terry Johnson, Roy Porter & Leonard Dixon, Jon Moseby, Antonio Dukes, David Collins, Cleveland Caldwell, Larry Hartley & Henry Caldwell. Honorary pallbearers are Jessie McCoy, Jr., Kenny Caldwell, Mario Scott & Billy Scott. Burial in Evergreen Cemetery under the directions of Cromwell Funeral Home of Hamburg, AR.
