David B. Cawthon, 70 of Camden, Arkansas, passed away Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at Northern Louisiana Medical Center in Ruston, LA.
David is a veteran who served in the Navy on the USS Bordelon during the Vietnam War, where he earned the National Defense Metal, Vietnam Service Medal, and Republic of Vietnam Campaign Medal. David was born on December 20, 1944 in Camden, joined the Navy, and returned to make Camden his home. He is a member of the Chidester Baptist Church and retired RN from Ouachita County Medical Center. The discipline and patriotism he learned growing up and in the Navy never left him, as his family and friends will attest.
David is survived by a wife, Carolyn; sons Denny Conway and wife, Lisa of Mt. Holly and Fella Conway and wife, Mia of Camden. He also leaves behind his grandchildren, Crystal, Dakota, and Bailey Conway, Chantell Snelson, Raeann and Mark Lowery. His beloved four-legged friend, Sunny. He was blessed to have Coty Nalls of Oklahoma City, OK and Caleb Shaw of Camden in his life. David is preceded in death by his parents, Richard and Mamie Cawthon and son, Kenny Conway.
Visitation will held Friday from 6-8 pm at the funeral home. A Memorial service will be held 3 pm Saturday at Proctor Funeral Home
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to Chidester Baptist Church Building Fund, P. O. Box 210, Chidester, AR.
