James L (Fatie) Carter, 79, of Route 1, Hot Springs, died Sunday at Hot Springs. Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. today at Westminister Presbyterian Church, Hot Springs. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. today at Arlington Cemetery, El Dorado, under the direction of Gross Mortuary of Hot Springs. Mr. Carter was born August 30, 1895 in New London, Ark. and was the son of Robert T. Carter and Barbara Russell Carter. He was a retired rural mail carrier with the El Dorado Post Office and had lived in Hot Springs the past 20 years. He was a veteran of World War I and was a member of Westminister Presbyterian Church, Hot Springs. Survivors include his wife, Mrs. Pearl Cole Carter of Hot Springs; a daughter, Mrs. Nicholas Lascaro of Hot Springs; two sisters, Mrs. C. C. Campbell of Eagle Pass, Tex. and Mrs. Robert Wallingsford of El Dorado and three grandchildren. The family will be at C. B. Carter residence, 735 N. Flenniken, El Dorado.
