When Lula Arnold was born on August 10, 1857, in Augusta, Arkansas, her father, Eli, was 37, and her mother, Mary, was 21. She had one son and one daughter with Franklin Thomas Stratton between 1883 and 1885. She died on December 19, 1942, in Memphis, Tennessee, at the age of 85, and was buried in Walker, Arkansas.
