Velma Jean Smith Foster, 88 of Ozark, Arkansas died Monday, July 1, 2019 in Fort Smith, Arkansas. She was a retired P.E. Teacher and employee of Baldwin Piano, and a member of Granades Chapel Church. She was born May 12, 1931 in Coal Hill, Arkansas to Clyde and Edna McFadden Smith. She was preceded in death by her husband Guy Foster; a daughter, Linda Foster Adams; and her parents.
Velma is survived by a Foster son, Orla Larsen of Ozark; four grandchildren, Travis Adams and wife Kelli, Lara Wilcox and husband Sam, Josh Larsen and wife Brooke, and Nick Larsen and wife Meghan; six great grandchildren, Caleb Wilcox and wife Hailey, Foster Adams, and Easton, Parker, Oliver, and Amelia Larsen; two great-great grandchildren, Addailynn and Lillian Wilcox; and numerous friends and family.
Family will visit with friends from 6:00 until 8:00 PM Friday, July 5th at Shaffer Funeral Home, 2315 W. Commercial Street in Ozark.
Funeral service will be held 10:00 AM Saturday, July 6, 2019 at Shaffer Funeral Home Chapel with Sister Regena Mason officiating and burial at Jackson Cemetery under direction of Shaffer Funeral Home of Ozark. Serving as pallbearers are Triston and Trenton Nichols, Dalton Lott, Mack Martinez, Cody Cook, Gage Crooks, Caleb Wilcox, Ricky Foster, and Tracey Crooks. Honorary pallbearers are Everett and Robert Smith, Marshall and Ray Gaines, Jimmy Johnson, Josh and Nick Larsen, Charley Rofkahr, Danny Smith, and Nicky Hatfield.
