Anna Fentress Smead was born in Camden, Arkansas to Vivian J and William P Smead. She died on January 13, 2016 in Shreveport, Louisiana where she had made her home for many years. Anna is survived by her brother William J. (Bill) and wife Pamela of Greeneville TN, four nieces: Emily Smead., Elizabeth Smead Dukes, Ellen Smead Dassaboute, and Jamie Greene-Lamb.

Anna was very active in First United Methodist Church of Shreveport for many years. She enjoyed especially the prayer shawl and knitting ministry of the church and the many friends she made there. She also enjoyed the members of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and their service projects.

Miss Smead graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville and began her accounting career at Southwestern Electric Power Company in Shreveport until retirement.

A memorial service will be held 3:30 PM Friday in Couch Chapel at the First United Methodist Church in Shreveport with Dr. Pat Day officiating.

A graveside service will be held 3:00 PM Saturday at Memorial Park Cemetery in Camden, AR with Ham Singleton officiating.

In lieu of flowers contributions to First United Methodist Church, Shreveport, La or the American Cancer Society .
