October 23, 1937 - August 11, 2017
Madrey Ann Cottrell Carelock, 79 of El Dorado passed away Friday, August 11, 2017 at her residence.
Born October 23, 1937 in El Dorado, she was the daughter of Alvin David and Azalea Bailey Cottrell who preceded her in death. She was a very active member of Westside Baptist Church and was a devoted leader of the Joy Bible Study at Immanuel Baptist Church.
Madrey was an excellent seamstress and loved tending her flowers and watching the hummingbirds in her back yard. Family and friends were of most importance to her along with her children and grandchildren who brought much joy to her. She enjoyed taking trips with her sisters and friends who were often surprised by her quick wit and dry sense of humor.
Survivors include her husband, Jimmy of El Dorado, two sons, Chuck Carelock of Hot Springs and Dean Carelock (Kari) of El Dorado, two daughters, Melissa Yelenich (Marc) of Sanibel, FL and Melinda Moody (Jay) of Little Rock. Also surviving are sisters, Pam Gray (Jim) of Sterlington, LA and Melanie Girard (Pat) of North Little Rock along with grandchildren, Logan Bailey Yelenich, Brooke Baker Yelenich, Peyton Cottrell Yelenich, Sloan Audrey Yelenich and Cooper Garyn Carelock.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, August 14, 2017 at Westside Baptist Church with Rev. Gerald Perry and Rev. Doyne Robertson officiating. Interment will follow at Arlington Memorial Park under the direction of Young’s Funeral Directors.
Visitation for friends and family will be from 1:00 p.m. until funeral time Monday at Westside Baptist Church.
