Sam I. Bishop, 82, of 2344 Evergreen St., Port Arthur, Tex., died there Sunday afternoon. He is survived by his widow, Mrs. Ethel Bishop; a daughter, Mrs. Herb Cannon, Baytown, Tex.; a brother, John Henry Bishop, El Dorado; a sister, Mrs. B. F. Roberson, Port Arthur, and two grandchildren. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Marysville Methodist Church. Burial will be in Marysville Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Mortuary. Pallbearers will be Mr. Bishop's nephews. (El Dorado Times - August 10, 1971)
