Mrs. Evie Laura Bishop, 60, of Strong, died Thursday morning in a local hospital following a short illness. Mrs. Bishop was born April 13, 1908 in DeKalb, Tex., and was the daughter of Marion and Hattie Bush Miller. She was a member of the Strong Assembly of God Church. Survivors include her husband, Mark E. Bishop of Strong; two sons, Bill Bishop of El Dorado and Mark Bishop, Jr, of Danielsville, Ga.; two daughters, Mrs. Eva Nell Reeves of Strong and Mrs. Doris Langley of Georgia; a brother, Marvin Miller of DeKalb and nine grandchildren. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Strong Assembly of God Church with the Rev. C. C. Crace and the Rev. R. Rowland officiating. Burial will follow in Strong Cemetery under direction of Bailey Funeral Home. The body will be taken to the Bishop home at 9 a.m. Friday and will remain there until time for final rites. Pallbearers will be Ray Taunton, James Little, Earl Herring, R. N. Wooten, Lewis R. Taunton and George Parks. (El Dorado Times - December 7, 1968)
