Millie Mae Helm, 98, of Oxford, Arkansas passed from this life on January 28, 2020 in Salem, Arkansas. Millie was born March 5, 1921 in Violet Hill, Arkansas. Millie was the daughter of the late Earl Dillard and Laura (Blevins) Dillard.
Millie was united into marriage to Terrence Ethel Helm on November 24, 1937 in Oxford, Arkansas and to this union one son was born. Millie spent her working years as an assembly line worker for Baxter/Travernol Labs. Millie was a basketball star in her younger days. Millie loved cooking, quilting, gardening, serving people, and always welcomed everybody. Millie was a member of Immanuel Southern Baptist Church in Salem. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend.
Millie is survived by her son, Ron Helm and wife Karen of Oxford, Arkansas; two grandchildren, Dylan Helm and wife Robin of Cherokee Village, Arkansas and Lindsey Helm of Cherokee Village, Arkansas; four great grandchildren, Braxton, Chesney, Hoyt, and Archer; brother, Sam Dillard and wife Reba of Smiths Grove, Kentucky; sister, Jewell Story of Sarasota, Florida; many other family and friends. She is preceded in death by her husband (Terrence Ethel Helm), parents (Earl Dillard, Laura Dillard, and Lela Dillard Yancey), and two brothers (James Dillard and Carroll Dillard).
Funeral services will be 11:00 A.M. Friday, January 31, 2020 at Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas with Bro. Alan Winberry officiating. Visitation will be 10:00 A.M. until time of service on Friday, January 31, 2020 at Barker Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Oxford, Cemetery in Oxford, Arkansas. Pallbearers are Terry Dillard, Steve Taylor, Darrell Ball, Tommy Norvold, Alfred Grice, and Gary Dillard. Memorials may be made to the Fulton County Hospital Foundation. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home in Salem, Arkansas.
