Mar 4, 1856 - Jan 16, 1947
Mr. John C. Adcock, of Searcy Rt. 5, 90 years of age, one of White County's oldest citizens, passed away at a local hospital at 5:45 this Thursday morning, January 16, after a prolonged illness.
Mr. Adcock was born near Pangburn on March 4, 1856, and spent all of his life in White County.
Early in life Mr. Adcock became a member of the Church of Christ and for more than 50 years had been a very active member of his church. For many years he was one of the largest live stock dealers in White county, shipping several car loads of cattle each year.
Surviving him are one brother, William G. Adcock; four stepchildren, Miss Eva Cunningham and Mrs. Ell Honor of Routhe 5 Searcy, Mrs. Lucy Majors of Heber Springs, Edward Cunningham of McClelland; and several step-grandchildren.
Funeral services were held at the Howell Cemetery at Clay today at 2:00 p.m. with the Daniel Funeral Home in charge.
