Tommye Jean Miller Weaver, 70, died April 17, 2016 in her home after a short battle with cancer.
She was born August 6, 1945 in Magnolia, Arkansas. She was a graduate of Southern Arkansas University. She retired after 33 years of service as a Vice President, commercial loan officer and internal auditor for Bancorp South. She was a member of First United Methodist Church of Magnolia where she was active in the prayer shawl ministry. Tommye loved her community. Some of her many accomplishments include President of Magnolia Jr Charity League, Follies Chairman, Jaycees Outstanding Woman of the year, Board of Directors for the Magnolia Boys and Girls Club and member of the Magnolia Planning Commission.
Tommye is survived by her children, Stephen (Susan Sibley Weaver) of New Braunfels, TX; Reed (Tammy Faulkner Weaver) of Conway, AR; beloved grandchildren Anna, Coleman, Grace and Aubrey Weaver. She is also survived by her sister, Sandra Miller (Kim Austin) of New Orleans, LA. In her final weeks, Tommye was blessed to have 2 very special ladies who took wonderful care of her, Mable and LaToya Phillips. Her cousin, Gene Marie Crisp spent many hours by her bedside, along with special friend, Linda Eades. She was surrounded by her sons, daughters-in-law and sister in her final days, sharing special memories and assuring her how much she was loved. The Weaver family wants to thank her many friends and family for the care and love you showed her through calls, visits, food and more.
Visitation will be held at Lewis Funeral Home on Monday, April 18 from 6-8 pm, with the memorial service being held at First United Methodist Church of Magnolia at 11 am, Tuesday, April 19. Memorials may be made to First United Methodist Church, Chapel Ministry.
