SILOAM SPRINGS — Joe Fred Yeager, 73, of Siloam Springs died Nov. 18, 2003 at his home. He was born Aug. 8, 1927, in Siloam Springs to James B. and Bessie Barbee Yeager. He was retired after serving as chief of the Siloam Springs Fire Department. He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the South Pacific theater. He was a Baptist.

Survivors include his wife, Loreta Allen Yeager of Siloam Springs, to whom he was married Jan. 29, 1952; two daughters and sons-in-law, Mary Cunningham and Joe of Tulsa, Okla., and Tammy Bryan and Terry of Rogers; four grandsons, Major and Christopher Cunningham, both of Tulsa, and Nicholas and Cory Bryan, both of Rogers.

Graveside services will he at 2 p.m. Tuesday at Dickson Cemetery, near Cherokee City, under the direction of Backstrom-Pyeatte Funeral Home of Siloam Springs

Loreta Allen Yeager, 88, formerly of Siloam Springs, passed away Thursday, October 25, 2018 at the Autumn leaves of Tulsa.

Loreta was born on June 8, 1930 in Cherokee City, Arkansas, a daughter of Lee Allen and Geneva Wilhite Allen. She was the widow of the late Joe Fred Yeager, who she married on January 29, 1952 in Gentry, Arkansas and preceded her in death. Loreta was a bookkeeper for several businesses around the Siloam Springs area including Henry’s Hardware and the Charlie Brown Ins. Agency. She was a member of the First Baptist Church for 60 years.

She is survived by two daughters, Mary Cunningham and husband Joseph of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Tammy Bryan and husband Terry of Rogers, Arkansas; four grandchildren, Major and wife Heather Cunningham, Nick and wife Hannah Bryan, Cory and wife Brooke Bryan, and Christopher and wife Lindsay Cunningham; one great grandson, Carter Cunningham; two nieces, Cheryl Potter and Tonia Pollard; and one nephew David Welch.

She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, one sister Lovetra Welch and her brother Doyle Allen.

Graveside services will be held at the Dickson Cemetery in Cherokee City, Arkansas on Monday, October 29, 2018 at 10:00am.
