When Susan Elizabeth Clements was born on October 5, 1881, in Arkansas, her father, Romaltus, was 28, and her mother, Margaret, was 24. She married Isom Grant Williams on February 13, 1898, in Conway, Arkansas. They had five children in 11 years. She died as a young mother on June 28, 1915, in Faulkner Township, Arkansas, at the age of 33, and was buried in Greenbrier, Arkansas.
