Springdale. March 16 (Special) Funeral services for Thomas G. Macon 30, who was killed on Okinawa June 22, 1945, will be held Sunday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Joyce Cemetery. The Rev. Cecil Garrison will officiate. Burial will be under the direction of Callison-Sisco Funeral Home. The Veterans of Foreign Wars will have charge of graveside service. The body will arrive in Springdale Thursday evening.

He was born April 13, 1915 in War Eagle, the son of Atlas G. and Lillie Graham Macon. He attended school at Pilgrim's Rest, and until he entered service was a farmer in the Pilgrim's Rest community. He entered service November 4, 1943 at Camp Robinson, and went overseas with the 96th Infantry Division from Fort Lewis, Wash. July 24. 1944.

Surviving in addition to the parents, are his maternal grandmother, Mrs. Emily Johnson of Springdale; his paternal grandmother, Mrs. Cordelia Macon of Springdale; five brothers Edward, Jack, Quantrel, Oliver and Floyd Macon, all of Springdale; three sisters, Mrs. Freida Hammond, Seattle, Wash.; Mrs. Barbara Bowerman and Miss Maybelle Macon both of Springdale and a half-sister, Mrs. Elma Rambo, Orville, Calif.
