Frank Lee Boyd, 93, of Jay, Okla., formerly of Noel, Mo., died Monday, July 16, 2018, at his residence with his family by his side.
He was born March 28, 1925, in Chouteau, Okla., to Willis and Daisy (Estes) Boyd. He proudly served in the U.S. Army as a Corporal and as a Sergeant in the U.S. Air Force serving in World War II and the Korean War. He was a 70-year member of the American Legion and was the founder of the American Legion in Sulphur Springs, Ark. He married Billie Sellers on Dec. 18, 1948. He owned and operated the Landon and Boyd Vickers' Station in Noel.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Billie Boyd; son-in-law, Randy Cowger; a grandchild; and 10 siblings.
Survivors include his children, Phyllis Romine (Bill) of Southwest City, Mo., Pam Cowger of Pineville, Mo., Pat Howe (Richard Lee) of Jay, Ronnie Boyd (Carolyn) of Rogersville, Mo., Steven Boyd (Sarah) of Pineville; and nine grandchildren.
A private burial of Frank and his wife Billie will be held at a later date in the Butler Creek Cemetery in Noel.
