BOYD, Ernest H. - Ernest H. Boyd, age 25 years, manager of the Rainbow Inn at the Shady Home farm near Bentonville, died at the Maud Young hospital in this city at 6:30 this morning from injuries received last night near Springtown when the Marathon Oil company truck left the highway and plunged down a steep embankment. George White, of the Marathon Oil Co., who was riding with him, escaped with minor injuries but the truck was demolished. The accident happened on the sharp curve on No. 12 highway at Springtown as they were returning to Bentonville. Boyd, who was driving for White, suffered internal injuries, a broken collar bone and a crushed skull. The injured man was hurried to the hospital here in a Gentry ambulance. He never regained consciousness. His parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boyd of Cave Springs, and his brothers and sister were with him when the end came. The time of the funeral has not yet been decided upon.

Funeral services for Ernest Boyd, 25, who died in a Bentonville hospital early Thursday as the result of injuries received when a truck overturned at Springtown Wednesday night, were held at the Cave Springs Baptist church at 2:00 o'clock Sunday afternoon. Burial was in the Bentonville cemetery in charge of J.W. Bryant. Mr. Boyd is survived by his widow; a 16-month-old child; his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boyd of Cave Springs and several brothers and sisters.

(from Cave Springs) Mrs. Loyd Griggs and little son of LaJunta, Colo. arrived Saturday morning to attend the funeral and burial of her brother, Ernest Boyd, who was killed in a car wreck at Springtown last Wednesday evening. She will remain for a few days visit with her father and mother, Mr. and Mrs. Walter Boyd.

Following the funeral services held at the Baptist Church in Cave Springs Sunday afternoon the body of Ernest Boyd, late manager of the Rainbow Inn, two miles south of town, was brought to Bentonville and burial made in the City Cemetery
