ROGERS — Franklin Dee Marler, 77, of Rogers, died Monday, July 20, at Circle of Life Hospice in Bentonville. He was born April 21, 1938, at Cedar Creek, Mo., to John Thomas Marler and Addie Mossey Payne Marler.

He moved to this area 65 years ago to make his home and was a short haul truck driver for Tyson Foods. He enjoyed fishing and hunting and was a member of Freedom Freewill Baptist Church where he played the guitar and sang with his wife Carolyn.

He is preceded in death by his parents; his first wife of 52 years Sarah Christine Marler; five brothers, Jess Marler, Ora Marler, Grover Marler, Snowman Marler and Otis Marler; two sisters, Delvie Marler and Elsie Arnold; and one granddaughter, Bailey Marler.

Survivors are his wife, Carolyn Ann Marler of the home; three sons, Jimmy Marler and wife Shirley of Ozark, Mo., Dwayne Marler and wife Tammy of Branson, Mo., and Larry Marler and wife Kim of Lowell; one daughter, Dee Ann Decker and husband Richard of Washburn, Mo.; two brothers, Butch Marler of Texas and Earl Marler of Udall, Kan.; two sisters, Virginia McPherson of Winfield, Kan., and Geneva Cook of Cassville, Mo.; 21 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren.

Service is set for 10 a.m. Thursday, July 23, at Freedom Freewill Baptist Church. Burial will be at Bayless Cemetery. Visitation is set for 6-8 p.m. Wednesday, July 22, at Sisco Funeral Home Chapel in Pea Ridge. Memorials may be made to Freedom Freewill Baptist Church.
