Edna Lena Payer Wright, 87, of DeWitt died Thursday, November 24, 2011. She was born November 19, 1921 in Casscoe to William Alexander and Ethel Gertrude Hancock Payer who preceded her in death. She was a retired Kroger clerk, a member of the American Legion Auxiliary, Extension Homemakers Club and First Baptist Church.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Earl Wright. Survivors include children: Bobby Earl Wright, DeWitt, Michael Wright of Little Rock, Kay Mitchell of DeWitt, brothers: Leon Payer of Mabelvale, Billy Payer of Stuttgart; sisters: Lorene Leder of Dewitt, Dorothy Wilks of Hunter, five grandchildren ad four great-grandchildren.

Services will be 11:30 a.m. Saturday, November 26, at First Baptist Church by Essex Funeral Home. Burial will be 11 a.m. at Cedarcrest Memorial Gardens.

When Earl Wright was born on January 27, 1917, in Arkansas, his father, Aaron, was 66 and his mother, Jessie, was 40. He married Edna Lena Payer on July 3, 1942, in Faulkner, Arkansas. He died on March 30, 1993, in De Witt, Arkansas, at the age of 76, and was buried there.
