Charles Wilson "Kookie" Coger, 68, of Huntsville, Arkansas, died November 21, 2016 at the Willard Walker Hospice Home in Fayetteville, Arkansas. He was born August 25, 1948 at Huntsville, Arkansas, the son of Woodrow Wilson and Lillian Augusta Self Coger. He was a retired firefighter for the Springdale Fire Department with thirty-four years of service. He had also retired frm the Huntsville Fire Department and was an employee of the Huntsville School District for ten years before retiring this year. He was a Baptist and attending Astounding Grace Church.
Survivors include: his wife, Linnie Lee Bivens Coger of the home; one son and daughter-in-law, Blain and Denise Coger of Huntsville, Arkansas; one daughter and son-in-law, Shannon and David Howard of Farmington, Arkansas; two grandsons, Cutter Shrum of Huntsville, Arkansas and Slater Shrum of Farmington, Arkansas; two granddaughters, Bailie Coger and Emma Coger, both of Huntsville, Arkansas and one great-granddaughter, Rylee Jo Reynolds of Huntsville, Arkansas.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Wednesday, November 23, in the chapel of Brashears Funeral Home with The Reverend Butch Bolinger and Chaplain Charles Walden officiating. Interment will be in the Alabam Cemetery with honors by the Springdale Fire Department Honor Guard under the direction of Brashears Funeral Home www.brashearsfuneralhome.net of Huntsville, Arkansas. Pallbearers will be: Captain Tom Pearson, Captain Fred Adler, Captain Dustin Kelley, Firefighter Hayden Dennis, Firefighter Floyd Haws and Firefighter Justin Cobb. Honorary pallbearers will be: David Hinds, George Davis, Eddie Davis, Mickey Jackson, Tommy Phillips, Oscar Skelton, Dean Bitner, Duane Miller, Lee Holt, Jeff Reeves, Mike Roach, Herb Worley, Harry Spurlock, Neal Sliger, Mike Keck, Beau Greenfield, Ron Burgess, Shawn Ellis, Scott Thomas and John Vines. The family will receive friends from 6:00 P. M. to 7:00 P. M. on Tuesday at the funeral home.
