HUKILL, William B. - W.B. Hukill died Friday, June 20th at his home in the northeast part of town at the age of 77 years, 10 months and 10 days. He had been ill for a long time. Funeral services were held Saturday, conducted by Rev. Murphy of the First M.E. church. William B. Hukill was born in Fayette county, Ohio August 10th, 1835. At the age of fourteen he moved with his parents to Illinois, locating near Lincoln in Logan county, where he remained until the opening of the Civil War when he enlisted as a soldier in Co. B, 106 Illinois Vol. He was converted while in the service at a weekly prayer meeting held on the campground and later united with the M. E. church. His life and conversation demonstrated his Christian character. He was united in marriage to Miss Laura Shoop of Washington Co., Ohio February 19, 1867. To this union were born 5 children, 3 of whom with his wife, survive him. He moved with his family to Rogers in 1902 and resided in and near here since that date. As a husband and father he was always kind and affectionate. His life was an open book full of sympathy, tender and true. He could never do enough for the enjoyment of his guests, would sacrifice in all ways to add to the pleasure of others. During an illness of six months he expressed himself as ready for the Master's summons. The end was peaceful. A Friend.

HUKILL, Mrs. W.B. (SHOOP} - Mrs. W.B. Hukill died Monday, May 29th at Hinton, Okla. where she was living with a son. The body arrived in Rogers yesterday morning and funeral services were held at the M.E. church of which she was formerly a member. Interment was in Rogers cemetery beside the grave of her husband who died several years ago. It will be remembered that mention was made in the Democrat some months ago of the fact that Mrs. Hukill lived in and near Rogers for quite a number of years. The farm east of Rogers, now occupied by W.F.D. Batjer, was for many years the Hukill home. Mrs. Hukill had many friends here who will greatly regret to learn of her death.
