Rev. James Peters, 78, of Alma, died Thursday, May 2, 2013 in a local hospital.
He was born May 20, 1934 in Idabel, OK to the late Frank and Lela Peters.
He was a retired Civil Service worker at Fort Chaffee, and a retired Assembly of God Minister.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Cosma and Clyde Peters.
He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Ella Jo Peters of the home; a daughter Barbara Warren and husband Leroy of Mulberry; a son, Scott Peters and wife Kelli of Alma; a brother, Fred Peters and wife Reba of Mountainburg; five grandchildren, Amanda Fouts and husband Heath of Muldrow, OK, Adam Warren and wife Ashley of Tomahawk, KY, Newt, Jake, and Cooper Peters of Alma; and two great-grandchildren, Mylea and Ayden Warren of Tomahawk, KY.
Funeral service will be 2:00 p.m. Friday, May 3, 2013 at Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Chapel with interment to follow at Dyer Cemetery in Dyer, under the direction of Edwards Van-Alma Funeral Home of Van Buren.
Pallbearers will be Adam Warren, Heath Fouts, Scott Peters, Newt Peters, Jake Peters, and Cooper Peters.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Arkansas Assembly of God Ministers of Section 5 North.
