Samuel David Lewis, 83 of Strawberry, died Monday September 17, 2018 at White River Medical Center in Batesville.

He was born April 27, 1935 in Lynn, Arkansas to Gordon Lewis and Maye Hooten Lewis. He was a loving husband, brother, and friend. He worked as a heavy equipment operator in Arkansas and Missouri. He was a member of the Church of Christ.

David was preceded in death by his parents, Gordon & Maye; wife, Doris King Lewis; and brothers, Cyril Lewis, & Freddie Lewis.

He is survived by his sister, Jo Crabtree; several nieces & nephews; and many other friends & family.

Graveside services will be Wednesday September 19, 2018 at 10:00AM at Smithville Cemetery with Kenny Townsley and Tommie Boles officiating.

Doris M. Lewis
October 26, 1931 - January 30, 2015

Doris M. Lewis, 83 of Strawberry passed away Friday at Ash Flat Health Center. She was born October 26, 1931 at Winter Haven, Florida to Mike and Hazel Stewart King. She was a longtime resident of Lawrence County and a member of Southern Baptist Church in Strawberry. She was an avid reader and a member of the Driftwood Library board at Lynn. She earned her Masters Degree in Education from Arkansas State University. She was an educator, teaching elementary school at Black Rock and Strawberry and a member of Delta Kappa Gamma.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother; one sister.

She is survived by her husband, David Lewis of the home; sister, Joyce Fisher of Florida; brothers, Jim King of Florida and Tommy King of Smithville.

Graveside Service will be 11:00 a.m., Monday at Smithville Cemetery with Carl Cates officiating.
