Azlee Mary (Campbell) Zimmer, 91, of Elizabeth, Arkansas departed this life on Sunday, August 19, 2018 in Elizabeth, Arkansas. She was born to the late Lee J. Campbell and Lona (Shelton) Campbell on February 17, 1927 in Elizabeth, Arkansas.
Azlee was united in marriage to Leon Zimmer on April 19, 1941 in Centerpoint, Arkansas and to this union five children were born. Azlee was a homemaker and a member of the Elizabeth Baptist Church. She was a loving daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and great great grandmother.
She leaves to mourn her passing; three daughters, Becky Foster and husband Eudell of Elizabeth, Arkansas, Joyce Sanders and husband Bill of Dolph, Arkansas and Darlene Smith and husband John of Elizabeth, Arkansas; two sons, David Zimmer and wife Ellen of Elizabeth, Arkansas and Jerell Zimmer of Elizabeth, Arkansas; thirteen grandchildren, Judy Balentine, Neesha Williams, Johnny Foster, Babara Sanders, Roger Sanders, David Gene Shelley, Jaylene Schaufler, Matthew Zimmer, Michael Zimmer, Darrell Zimmer, Erin Zimmer, Amanda Travis and Johnny Paul Smith; twenty seven great grandchildren; ten great great grandchildren; three brothers, Joe Bill Campbell and wife June of Kansas City, Missouri, L.J. Campbell and wife Hellen of Viola, Arkansas and Neal Campbell and wife Carolyn of Gepp, Arkansas; two sisters, Dolly Messer of Viola, Arkansas and Margie Fry of Elizabeth, Arkansas; many other relatives and friends. A special thank you to her caregivers, Zach Branscum, Missy Roush, Donna Hardin, Tonya Franks and Laura Carter.
She is preceded in death by her husband, parents, two sisters (Argie Sanders and Janell Henry), three grandsons (Stanley Shelley, Jr., Jessie Zimmer and Jeremy Zimmer), great granddaughter (Shaylynn Shelley), daughter-in-law (Bonnie Zimmer) and three brothers-in-law (Willie B. Sanders, Bob Messer and Gordon Fry).
Funeral services will be 10:00 A.M. Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Elizabeth Baptist Church in Elizabeth, Arkansas with Bro. John Hodges and Bro. Warren Newman officiating. Interment will be in the Elizabeth Cemetery in Elizabeth, Arkansas. Visitation will be 9:00 until time of service on Tuesday, August 21, 2018 at Elizabeth Baptist Church. Pallbearers are Johnny Foster, David Gene Shelley, Darrell Zimmer, Roger Sanders, Michael Zimmer and Matthew Zimmer. Honorary Pallbearers are Larry Slane and Josh Foster. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice. Arrangements are under the direction of Barker Funeral Home of Salem, Arkansas.
