Joe worked as a revenuer with Arkansas Beverage Control and retired from the Federal Government as an agent with the Bureau of Alcohol Tobacco and Firearms in 1977 after 21 years of distinguished service. After retirement he drove a school bus for 10 years at Nemo Vista as well as worked part time at Rossi Electric and served as pipeline inspector for the Conway County Regional Water District helping facilitate bringing city water to the Catholic Point community. He was very active in his church serving on the church council, picnic committee, Eucharistic Minister, bible study and many other efforts. He had a huge heart for those in need. He and Geneva started a food bank out of their garage and, working with the Arkansas Food Bank and several other friends, they fed the poor of their community for many years. Joe was known as being hard working, honest, dependable and faithful. He enjoyed making homemade muscadine wine and Italian sausage following in the footsteps of his family's deep rooted traditions. His family is deeply grateful for all who have cared for him during his battle with Alzheimer's in particular Missy Young, Dr. Peter Post and the caregivers at Morrilton Healthcare Center who cared for Joe and Geneva a combined 10 years.
