When Robert E. Scroggin was born on March 31, 1924, in Conway, Arkansas, his father, Thomas, was 41 and his mother, Rosa, was 35. He had five brothers and five sisters. He died on January 26, 1925, in his hometown within a year of his birth, and was buried in Center Ridge, Arkansas.
