William C. "Hos" Montgomery, 63, 106 Ozark St., died suddenly at his home Thursday night. Born Jan. 1, 1903, at Arkadelphia, he was the son of Jewel S. and Virginia Conway Montgomery. A resident of this area for the past 24 years, he was a wholesale beverage distributor, a member of Holy Redeemer Catholic Church, Knights of Columbus and the Holy Name Society. Mr. Montgomery attended Ouachita College from 1921-1925, was assistant football coach in 1925, and was the star center for three years. Survivors include his father, J. S. Montgomery; his widow, Mrs. Kathleen Montgomery; three daughters, Miss Nona Jean Montgomery, Mrs. Harvey L. Deason, and Mrs. Adolph Chandler; five grandchildren, Lee and Jamie Deason, and Becky, Katy, and Steve Chandler, all of El Dorado. He is also survived by one brother, Boyd Montgomery of Little Rock. Rosary services will be held at 7:30 Friday night in Young's Chapel with Rev. Louis Janesko officiating. Funeral arrangements will be announced later. (The El Dorado Times - August 26, 1966)
