El Dorado, March 7 - The Rev. John D. Dunn, aged 83, retired Methodist minister and life-long South Arkansas resident, died at his home here following a heart attack Thursday. Born in Calhoun County near Hampton, he was ordained 51 years ago and retired in 1926 after serving several South Arkansas churches. His last charge was at Wesson and Fredonia. The Rev. Mr. Dunn began his ministry in 1896 at Lono, near Leola. Surviving are four sons, Joel Dunn of El Dorado, Leroy Dunn of Camden, Hendrix Dunn of Strong, and Wallace Dunn of Texarkana; a daughter, Mrs. D. R. Crowe of Hughes; and a brother, Jim Dunn of Camden. Funeral services were held at the First Methodist Church here by the Rev. Terry Armstrong and Dr. Connor Morehead at 2:30 p.m. Today. (Camden News - March 7, 1947)
