March 11, 1886 - November 16, 1974
Retha A. Edwards, 88, of 715 El Dorado Ave., died Saturday in a local hospital following a brief illness. Funeral services are to be held at 2 p.m. Tuesday in the Rumph Mortuary Chapel with the Rev. Murphy Smith officiating. Burial will follow in Woodlawn Cemetery under the direction of Rumph Funeral Home. She was the daughter of Jess Arnold and Victoria Ward and was born March 3, 1886 in Yell County. She moved to El Dorado in 1921. Survivors include two sons, Jesse Edwards and Trigs Gilkey, both of El Dorado; one stepson, H. A. Edwards of Shreveport; three daughters, Mrs. Virginia Wheatley, Mrs. Lola Ball, and Mrs. Winnie Ball, all of El Dorado; one sister, Mrs. Atha Allen of Bakersfield, Calif.; 14 grandchildren; and 37 great grandchildren. The family will be at the Ball residence on the Calion Rd. (El Dorado News Times - November 18, 1974)
