November 29, 1884 - March 23, 1969
Mrs. Kate Hall McCall, 428 Marsh Ave., died Sunday in a local hospital. Mrs. McCall, the daughter of William David Hall and Allie Mask Hall, was born in Holly Springs, Nov. 29, 1884. She was the widow of A. Paul McCall, who died in 1963. Mrs. McCall had been a resident of El Dorado and other sections of Union County, including Lawson and Mt. Holly, for some 70 years. She was a public school teacher for many years and a member of the Baptist Church. She is survived by one son and daughter-in-law, Paul and Frances Gunnels McCall of El Dorado; one grandson; and one great grandson. Other survivors include two sisters, Mrs. Martha Purifoy of Houston, Tex., and Mrs. Horace Williamson of El Dorado. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Rumph Mortuary with the Rev. J. G. Barton officiating. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be J. D. Beazley, J. C. Cook, C. C. Crumpler, Jackie Gunnels, Mack Hall and Colon Watson. (El Dorado Times - March 24, 1969)
