Mrs. Julia McCall, 85, died in a local nursing home Saturday night. Born Aug. 27, 1882 in Columbia County, she was the daughter of James and Annie Laura Lewis Fernald. She was a life-long resident of Arkansas and a member of the First Presbyterian Church of El Dorado. Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. R. C. Knight of Marshall, Tex., and Mrs. B. L. Barnhouse of Little Rock; two sisters, Mrs. Burt Sturdivant and Mrs. Clara Curtis, both of El Dorado; two brothers, Henry Fernald and Corbin Fernald, both of El Dorado; five grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Funeral services were at 10:30 a.m. Monday at the Rumph Mortuary chapel with Rev. Gary Jones officiating. Burial followed in Woodlawn Cemetery. (El Dorado Times - January 8, 1968)
