September 4, 1884 - February 19, 1963
Funeral services for Abner V. Benson, 78 of the Red Hill community near Chidester who died at his home Tuesday morning will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday at the Red Hill Methodist Church. Services will be conducted by Rev. Doyle Creech, and Rev. W. R. Johnson. Burial will be in the Red Hill Cemetery by Proctor Funeral Home. Mr. Benson is survived by his wife, one son, one daughter, two brothers, six sisters, six grandchild. Nephews will serve as casket bearers. The body was taken to the home Wednesday afternoon to lie in state until service time. (Camden News - February 20, 1963)
