Ira Mack Hankins of Wooster, age 92, passed from this life on Friday, October 14, 2016, at the Rehabilitation and Nursing Center in Greenbrier. Mack was born at Pleasant Valley, Arkansas on Monday, September 29, 1924. He was the son of Martin E and Melissa Jane James Hankins.

Mack was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Mary Belle Keathley Hankins; and his daughter, Phyllis Ann Hankins.

He is survived by his daughter, Carol Denise Hankins Cuen of Conway; a grandson, Joshua Shane Cuen and his wife Kristine and a great granddaughter, Roxanne Juanita Cuen all of West Plains, Missouri; one sister, Luvella Hill and one brother Oather Hankins both of Conway.

Mack was honorably discharged from the United States Navy after serving in the Pacific on the aircraft carrier USS Lexington during World War II.

Mack enjoyed being a cattle farmer for most of his life while also working in the construction business. He also enjoyed raising a garden and selling his produce at the Conway Farmers Market. He was well known and respected by many.

Funeral services will be at the Greenbrier Church of Christ, where he was a member for many years, on Monday, October 17, 2016 at 1:00PM. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery under the direction of the Roller-McNutt Funeral Home of Greenbrier.

Special thanks are extended to his private caretaker, Shirley Smart; Kindred (Gentiva) Hospice and the staff on Hall 500 of the Greenbrier Rehab and Nursing Center for their very special and loving care given to Mack and his family.
