Carroll Gene Hankins, 73, of Greenbrier, went to be with his Lord on Monday, October 15, 2012. Born in Greenbrier, Ark., he was a son to the late Perry H. and Mildred (Biggs) Hankins. Mr. Hankins was an Army Veteran and retired from Alltel with 32 years of service. He was a very active member of Wooster First Baptist Church, serving as Sunday School Director, a Sunday School Teacher and had been a deacon for 30 years.

Those left to cherish his memory are, his loving wife, Nan L. (Pruitt) Hankins; daughters: Catrena Lee and husband Michael of Bryant and Carrie Brown and husband Brent of Greenbrier; grandchildren: Evan Hankins Lee, Megan Lee, Callen Brown and Chandler Brown; a sister, Helen Tindall of Greenbrier and a host of extended family and friends.

Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m., Friday, October 19 at Wooster First Baptist Church. Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Saturday, October 20, at the church, with Bro. Matt Pryor and Bro. Phillip Drennan officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Valley Cemetery, with Harold Belote, Daryl Belote, Robert Belote, Donnie Belote, Walt Pruitt and Wesley Pruitt serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are: Tommy Browning, Denny Brown, Johnnie (Derb) Stone, Johnny Smith, Junior Tapley, Kirk Hardy, Bruce Vann and the Deacons of Wooster First Baptist Church.
